Disabled Hunting
We cater for all disabled hunters. East Cape Plains Game Safaris are the pioneers of disabled hunting in South Africa, giving the disabled hunter the African hunting experience. Over the past ten years we have perfected fair chase and ethical hunting techniques for the disabled hunter, therefore hunting from vehicles will only be done in extreme cases.

All hunting is done in specially designed, ported hunting chairs, as hunting from a vehicle is only done in extreme cases. See a disabled hunter's opinion.
Hunters are accommodated in the fully accessible Warthog Lodge.

DISABLED HUNTING: EAST CAPE PLAINS GAME SAFARIS

I am a T4-T5 level paraplegic. I have hunted at East Cape Plains Game Safaris during August 2004 and July 2005. The camp facilities are wheelchair accessible, and the personnel well able to accommodate and help a disabled hunter.

Travel to and from the hunting field is by a four wheel drive vehicle, but no shooting is allowed from vehicles. The hunter is carried in a hunting chair, either stalking game or sitting at a suitable location or in a hide. This ensures fair chase hunting, and results in a worthwhile hunting experience. Shooting distance varies from 50 to 300 yards, and terrain varies from open to bushy veld.

Game is abundant. Lack of hunting success cannot be blamed on lack of game. East Cape Plains Game Safaris goes to great lengths to ensure the availability of game. In this respect it is as much a game viewing as a hunting trip! Game will however not jump into your lap, is not confined in small enclosures or camps, and the hunter needs to do his/her share.

I have hunted Impala, Warthog, Blesbok and Blue Wildebeest, all animals being of good quality. The guides and Professional Hunter spare no effort to ensure a successful hunt, within the boundaries of ethical and fair chase principles.

I can recommend East Cape Plains Game Safaris to any disabled hunter: They are keen and able to help, ensure the availability of abundant game, and ensure an enjoyable hunting experience in the open veld, as any able hunter would experience.
